Eating Out

Well, Steve and I went to "the boat" yesterday. Can you believe we each paid $21.99 to eat? It was seafood Saturday. There was crab, boiled shrimp, fried shrimp, crawfish, and catfish. Actually, there was a lot more than that, but those were the seafood choices. All in all, it was very good, and I ate plenty. Mostly I ate crab and shrimp. Yum! Now if I had gone to the grocery store and spent $21.99 I could have gotten enough food to feed me for several meals. Not crab and shrimp though. So I ask myself, why do I spend so much money on eating out? If I spent all the money I spend in restaurants in a grocery store, my cupboards would be full to overflowing! If you were to go look in my pantry (I don't really have a pantry, but cupboards), you would find a couple of cans of soup, bread, rice, spaghetti, crackers, ramen noodles, and I think there is some tuna. Oh, and a box of cereal. In my refrigerator you'll find milk, eggs, butter, potatoes, biscuits and a few more things. There is not anything in my freezer except ice. Now, I am not rich, but I am not destitute. I spend money on eating out instead of filling my cupboards.  So tonignt when I get hungry, I'll probably hop in my truck and head to the nearest eating establishment.  However, if I go to Wal-Mart the "ice cream" aisle will be beckoning.  Hmmm,  maybe a trip to Wal-Mart won't be so bad after all!  Rocky Road, here I come!  Have a great Memorial Day.
