I am beginning to get tired of the writer's strike. While I really don't watch that much TV, there are several shows that I like, and watch each week. I miss them.
Bob (my boss), Kyle (technical director) and myself have spent a couple of days cleaning the scene shop at the theatre. None of us can remember the last time it was done. So far this week we have filled up two trailers. The city of Monroe provides the trailers free of charge as a part of "Beautify Monroe" or something like that. That doesn't include the regular dumpster we have for trash. It's hard work, but it is kind of fun. Mostly for me because I remember what plays a certain piece was used in. Like we found the platform we used in "The Foreigner". It was distinctive because of the trap door. During "The Foreigner" one of my jobs was to go underneath this platform, throw open the trap door and raise a fistful of sauerkraut. I had forgotten about it till we ran across the platform. As we found different props and flats, we had fun remembering the shows and the people that were in them. Alas, it is probablly going to take another 3-4 days and another 3-4 trailers to throw out all the old and broken stuff.
This weekend, the theatre is having a fundraiser. It is a masquerade ball. Don't know exactly what I will be doing at the ball. Probablly taking tickets or something. Before the ball, there is a party at the home of one of our members. At that party, I will be driving a golf cart to ferry people from their cars to the house. Should be fun, unless it is cold, raining, or both. I have to dress up. That is the only part I don't like. Since it is a masquerade ball, I'll have to wear a mask. I am going to get a mask today during lunch, if there are any left in the city.

Isn't it fun to remember the funny moments of those plays? I'm glad you're taking such a positive approach to the cleaning chore.

Like your new haircut. Can't wait for you to post a picture of you and your mask. I think a masquerade ball sounds like a lot of fun.
