First, the brain: It's a dual core processor that runs at 3.0 Ghz and has 6Mb of L2 cache! This baby should SCREAM!

Next the motherboard to put it in. From Gigabyte, it supports the new Intel 45n architecture and is also "green" or energy efficient, which was a big selling point.

Next, the video card. I ordered two of these. Each card has 512mb of video memory and runs in a PCI-e 2.0 slot. If I wanted to, I could hook this up to an HD TV and get my picture in 1080p. They should be great! Unfortunately, they are not energy efficient.

And last, but not least the memory. I got 4 sticks of DDR2 memory. Should be enough to do whatever I need.
Although WinXP may not be able to recognize that I have 4 gigs.

I apologize if this little blog is boring, but I am excited. After 2 months I
will finally have a decent computer! Wish me luck when putting this thing together!
I probably won't be able to do it until next weekend.

I now officially have computer envy. And the sad thing is I don't have a clue what one-half of the things mentioned in your blog actually do. So, in this computer age, I guess I'm functionally illiterate.
