Dishwasher Practices
For years I did not have a dishwasher. I had to wash dishes in the sink. I didn't mind it at all. Now that I have a dishwasher, I am wondering if there is a proper technique. For instance, I don't unload the dishwasher after it is finished it's cycle. NO, instead, I open it up and take out dishes as I need them. Now I don't think this is necessarily WRONG, but it means that I can't load dirty dishes until I put up the clean ones. Consequently the dirty dishes get piled in the sink. Then when there is a plethora of dirty dishes, I unload the clean ones and start loading the dirty ones. I think it would be better to unload the clean ones as soon as I can after they are finished washing. That way I could immediately start loading dirty dishes. That seems like a much better plan. If I did it that way, I would always know whatever is in the dishwasher is dirty. I wouldn't have to think about getting one of those magnets you stick on the dishwasher that says "dirty" on one side and "clean" on the other. Just a thought. I also don't use the dishwasher until it is fully loaded. Why waste soap, electricity, and hot water on 1/2 a load? I don't know why I am posting this, but I was just thinking about getting up and unloading the dishes I washed last night, and then thought NAH, I'll do it later. My life is much more interesting than my little known dishwasher techniques, but that is what I was thinking about this morning. I guess I will get up and unload the thing, won't take me more than a few minutes. Hope you all have a great day, and GO UNLOAD YOUR DISHWASHER! It'll give you a sense of accomplishment. Hahahahaha.

Dang it, Cathy! Now you've got me worried about the dadgum dishes in the dishwasher. Right now, my sink is full of dirty dishes too. Maybe if I wait until the morning, I'll have more energy to do it. No, by then they'll be stinking up the kitchen and I'll be mad at myself. Ok, so maybe I'll go do the dishes. Oh, crap! I just remembered that I have a load of clothes in the washing machine. You know what that means? I've got to fold the load of clothes in the dryer first before I can put the clean clothes in. Maybe I should eat a snack and drink some iced tea and just forget about the dishes and the clothes. Crud! Now, I'm thinking I should go pee before I start drinking iced tea. Nah! I'll just sit here at the computer until nature forces me to go. Oh no! The phone is ringing and it's in the other room. Should I let the answering machine get it? What if it's one of the kids and they're having an emergency? What if it's a telemarketer? Arggggggghhhhhhh! Life hurts and I can't find a bandage big enough to cover my bobo.
ROTFL! Thank you, you made my morning.
I don't know why it is so much easier to load the dish washer than unload it, but it is not my favorite thing to do either. Fortunately, if I am too lazy to do it one day, Steve will have done it before he goes to work. But I try not to leave that for him too often.
Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness! When I was "little"...um, probably from the time I was 10 until my parents moved into the new house two years ago....we had one of those magnets! Only it was one sided. Daddy made it cuz Mom would get all angrified and we would get all confused. It said "STOP DIRTY DISHES" with a little stop side. It was slightly faded and the ink had run in one area because the lamination wasn't sealed as well as we had thought when we first started using it and the hot steam coming out of the dishwasher got to it....:) I miss that magnet. I also miss the dishwasher....
