Vocabulary

I spend a little time on Facebook. It's a pretty good application for keeping in touch with folks. Lately I added this application called scramble. It's kind of like "Bog", or "Boggle". You have to find words. Well, I quickly discovered that my vocabulary is limited. I picked out a few of the words I have NEVER heard and gave them a look-up. Here's a few, see if you can come up with the correct definition:
1. Obol
a) silver coin of ancient Greece
b) distant kin of an oboe
c) lobo spelled backwards
2. Squeg
a) sound a baby meerkat makes
b) fragrant balsam of a tree in South America
c) to produce an output that oscillates between a certain maximum and zero
3. Nidi
a) shortened form of needy. used often in text messages to save time
b) a nest, esp. one in which insects deposit their eggs
c) A stylized octagonal motif in Oriental rugs

If you need help in picking the correct definition, I'll use all the words in a sentence:
The archeologist was looking for obol using a squeg, but all he found was a bunch of nidi.
