Stage Painted

Yesterday, Bob, Joe and I painted the stage floor. It was fun, and kind of relaxing. It sure needed it. However, the stage floor is in need of repair, that's for sure! I imagine that it will cost a lot to get it fixed. If you have been on stage lately, you know what I am talking about. But at least it looks nice. Paint only covers the flaws (a little). Of course in a couple of weeks, you probably won't even be able to tell that it has been painted.

Getting the set ready for Sugar is in full swing. We found a gentleman who has agreed to paint "drops" for the show. His name is Tony. I don't remember his last name. He basically just walked in off the street and applied for the Technical Director job. Dennis Mitchell is building the set pieces and Tony is going to help with that as well. Say "hey" to Tony if you see him, and thank Dennis for volunteering his time to get the set pieces done.

We have 8 drops we have to paint. They are going to be black and white. Black is the background color and the details will be white. This will be more difficult than it sounds. First, we have to paint the background black. It is going to take a lot of white paint to cover the black. At least it seems so. I don't think that one pass of white paint is going to cover the black, so it will have to be painted multiple times for the white to look white. We shall see.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

I can't wait to tap dance on that new paint job! hehehe

Like you said, I don't think anybody is going to notice the difference after all these "Sugar" dancers start boot-scooting across the floor.
