This Gets Crazier by the Day

Well, here is the latest update on my work situation. A church group from the community (Lone Wa Baptist Church) has made a pitch to take over the running of Youth House. In order for this to happen, our current Board of Directors has to dismiss our Executive Director, and then put the new Executive Director in place. The new executive director will then ask for the resignation of some of the current board members, and when they resign, he will put in some of his board members. This group also runs (for lack of a better word) two juvenile emergency shelters in the area, and have been doing it for a while. I am not real sure how the church fits in to all of this, because they call themselves "Novice House" (which is the name of the emergency shelters). Then the new director will ask all of the current employees to resign their positions. And right after that, will rescind the resignations of the people he wants to keep on board. This is certainly not a done deal at this point, but it appears that it is going to happen. Will I be able to keep my job? Don't know. If I do keep the job, will my pay remain the same? Don't know. Will I lose what little benefits I have? Don't know. What about senority? Don't know. I really don't know how I feel about all this. It seems kind of crazy to me. This has to be done this way, because of regulations. In other words, the Youth House contracts with the Office of Youth Services and the Office of Community Services will not be upheld if there is any change in ownership. And the way the agreement is set up between Youth House and Novice House, there will not be a change in ownership, just a new executive director. I am sure that this explanation is clear as mud, so if you can't understand it, don't worry, I don't understand it either. Our current board of directors will meet again this Tuesday to make it official. But who knows? They may still opt to reject the agreement and close it down.
