Seasoned Corn and Black Beans

From time to time, I like to make home made soup. I use ground meat, canned tomatoes, potatoes, and a bag of seasoned corn and black beans. Makes for a pretty good soup. In the last couple of days, I have been using the seasoned corn and black beans for an entirely different purpose. They have served in the capacity of an ice pack. See, I took a fall the other day. Or maybe it is better stated that the fall took me. Took me straight home. I banged up my left knee. So, not having an ice pack handy, I used the corn and beans. They worked particularly well. I could of used frozen peas, but I didn't have any. I tried frozen okra, but it was too lumpy! Ditto for the broccoli.  So if you are ever in need of an ice pack and don’t have one, a bag of frozen vegetables will do the trick.  My knee is doing better thanks to its daily diet of seasoned corn and black beans!   Have a great weekend!

So how did you fall? Hope your knee is completely healed soon. I took a fall today too, but just landed on my behind and fortunately I have lots of padding there!!!

I was trying to step over some "garbage" that was on the floor. We were doing some cleaning. Anyway, my foot caught on a roll of paper (what you use to cover a bulletin board). Next thing I know, I am face down on the floor. I layed there for a few minutes before I could even get up. It almost knocked the wind out of me. Glad you didn't get hurt with your fall.

Sorry to hear about BOTH of you falling - humm- they say things happen in 3's....I'll be extra careful. Mel is deer hunting and did get one today, I do not like vineson but mix in enough green chili or enchilad sauce and I will eat it once. The other day we went to a friends house for dinner and she served spagatti made with either venison or elk...kind of like Daniel Boone meets Prego! Hope your knee feels better soon. Caren
