How I Spent My Saturday

Yesterday Steve and I went to Vicksburg. We went to the Ameristar to eat lunch. Some have commented that it is a long way to go for lunch. But it really isn't about the eating. Whenever Steve and I go, we have the time to talk.....uninterrupted. If you haven't been to the Ameristar lately, they are doing a big parking additon. I think it might be 5 floors, but I didn't count.

Later in the evening, I went to visit my grandkids. As always, I was thoroughly entertained! Aylssa was quick to show me her report card; she made S+ in all subjects. Alyssa told me that she liked science, and then began to give me a lecture on the weather. Jeanine says that Alyssa listens to weather on the radio and often watches the weather channel. Jeanine also said that Alyssa will (at unexpected times) provide everyone in earshot with weather predictions. My "grandma-vision" saw Alyssa as the meteorologist on a local TV station. Aaron had a friend over, so he was otherwise occupied, but he did show me how well he can navigate the computer. He and his friend were playing games on-line. Then, if you can believe this, we watched High School Musical #2. Unfortunately, the DVD was scratched and we had to skip chapters. All in all, I had a wonderful time yesterday. Hope everyone else had a great day too!

Had to look on Google to see what the Ameristar was. Did they have a buffet. Glad you had a good time with the grandkids. It is interesting how kids can get fixated on things. It could be a lot worse than weather. The High School Musical and Hannah Montana phenomena is something else. Just think, if you and Steve were to come to Dallas you would have 5 hours of interrupted conversation coming and going. :)

Angie and I used to eat at the Ameristar about once a month back between '96 to '97. She was seeing a doctor regularly in New Orleans at the time and that was one of our favorite stops on the trek down there. They used to have a wonderful buffet for a great price. Is it still a good deal?

In my opinion, it isn't as good as it used to be. I am not saying it is bad, otherwise we wouldn't have made the trip. Lunch is $10.99. If you want to do lunch, you gotta get there before 2. If you wait for the dinner buffet, it'll cost ya $23.99. We need to get a group together and go some Saturday. It would be fun!
